This past weekend was Toronto’s second annual Scotiabank Nuit Blanche. From 7:03 p.m. to sunrise, hundreds of thousands of Torontonians swarmed the streets of Downtown Toronto. The event, described as “a free all-night contemporary art thing,” drew in a crowd of 425,000 in 2006, its inaugural year.
This year, with 195 installations, extended TTC service, ridiculous line-ups, and crowds in the wee hours of the morning, many are predicting attendance numbers that will exceed last year's.
This year, for the first time, Ryerson University presented Light Up the Night as part of Nuit Blanche. The exhibition featured works by Ryerson students, faculty and alumni.
RyersOnline was at all three of Ryerson’s venues: Heaslip House/Devonian Lake, CAMERA on Queen St. W., and the Gladstone Art Bar, also on Queen St. W.
